The holiday season is a great time to share photos and capture cherished memories. Uploading and posting photos to your Tyze network is easy to do, and members of your network will want to login to see your photos. Here are some tips on how to share photos with your Tyze network.

Sharing pictures on your Tyze network is easy if you have a good photo application and a little know-how. It is fun and easy to do and a great way of adding life to your network stories.

Taking Photos

  • Make sure there is lots of light
  • Digital Cameras need lots of light so here is a simple tip. If you aren't using a flash, turn up the exposure on your camera. This will increase the amount of light in your pictures and make them brighter. Most cameras make it easy to make this adjustment but don't get frustrated if you can't figure it out, there is nothing wrong with using the "Auto" setting.
  • Take lots of photos and be playful
  • When you're using a digital camera you can take hundreds of photos without worrying about developing costs. So take lots of pictures and be playful. Along with your posed portraits, make funny faces, take candid pictures and pass a camera around so that everyone gets to be a photographer. Being able to take so many photos makes taking pictures a group event that you can all have fun with. Remember funny moments aren't always planned, so practice taking photos and be ready to quickly snap a picture when something happens.

Preparing Photos

  • Use a photo application
  • Whether you are using a Windows or Apple based computer there are applications that make preparing your photos fun and easy. Some of the more popular ones like iPhoto and Picasa come installed with your machine, or are available for free online. Not only does a photo application make it easy to get your pictures onto your computer, but it will also make it easy to prepare them for sharing with your Tyze personal network.
  • Use auto-correction
  • Common photo applications like iPhoto and Picasa have automatic enhancement tools for your pictures. Some of these features include red-eye reduction, auto-levels that balance the amount of light, auto-brightness, auto-contrast and more. So just in case your pictures are a little dark or didn't have as much color as you would like, your photo application can help you bring your pictures back to life.

Uploading photos

  • Resize pictures for the web
  • If you are a beginner trying to upload your pictures to Tyze for the first time, or even if you have been doing it for a while, here is a tip that will make uploading your pictures much more enjoyable. Using your photo application, resize and save a copy of your pictures that are "web ready". What this means is reducing the size of the picture so that uploads more quickly to Tyze. Look for an "Export" command and size your pictures with a maximum width of 400 pixels or use small size option if there is one and a medium quality setting.
  • Make exported pictures easy to find
  • When you use your photo application to export your web ready pictures, be sure to save them to a place where it will be easy for you to them like your desktop. When you want to share your pictures with your network, you'll be asked to select which ones you want to upload to Tyze. Exporting your pictures to your desktop will make it easy to find the copies of the pictures that you prepared with your photo application.

Sharing Photos

  • Pick memorable moments
  • Sharing photos is all about the highlights! Have a funny moment that you captured? Was there a photo of people welcoming each other? A great portrait? An awe inspiring landscape? These are all great choices for sharing with your network.
  • Write a story
  • Use the Tyze story feature to write a story to accompany your photos. There is no better way to connect with your network than by sharing stories even if they are a bit of a tall tale. Make your pictures more memorable by talking about what the pictures don't show, what people said, how they felt, and who told the best joke.
