When it comes to caring for their aging father in Scotland, Tyze puts siblings in Canada, Australia, and Singapore in the same room.

For Charles and his family, Tyze had been a way of bridging the miles. “Even if we weren’t actually doing anything,” John says, “we could support the people who were there with Dad. When they posted, we replied with thanks and encouragement. It gave a constant feeling of being involved that was empowering for all of us.” The relationship between Charles and his care providers was enriched, and John and his sisters felt more confident that they were doing the right thing when it came time to make difficult decisions. Far-flung family connected with care providers in another country – formal and informal systems pooled information which meant better care for Charles and more peace of mind for his family.

As they helped their Dad through his final days, John and his sisters found that Tyze made a tough time easier. “Towards the end,” John says, “as we started to panic, Tyze helped us not panic.”
