Tyze Terms of Use

Effective as of: July 5, 2013

Congratulations on being part of a Tyze personal network! We’re so pleased to have you with us. Before we get going, it’s important for you to understand what you are agreeing to when you use our services. Below on the left is the full legal agreement, which is important for you to read. On the right is our translation of the legal agreement into what is often called “human-readable” (for humans, like you and me). It’s a simple, non-legal summary of the full agreement that provides highlights and hopefully helps you understand what it is you are agreeing to.

Tyze Personal Networks Ltd. (“Tyze”, “Us”, “Our” or “We”) operates an online solution that allows individuals, groups and organizations to create online personal networks (the “Services”) based on the network model of care for health and social care. The network model of care consists of freely-given relationships between individuals, friends, family members, community members, caregivers, and care partners in order to advance communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and support amongst people contributing to an individual’s well-being.

By registering to use the Services (as defined below), You (identified herein as “User” (defined further below) or as “You” or “Your”) agree to be bound by this Terms of Use Agreement (“Agreement”). Your use of the services is expressly conditioned on your acceptance of these Terms of Use, as they may be modified from time to time. PLEASE READ THIS AGREEMENT CAREFULLY. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THIS AGREEMENT, PLEASE STOP IMMEDIATELY ALL USE OF THE SERVICES.

  1. The small print in big print

If you choose to use Tyze, you are agreeing to our Terms of Use. If you don’t agree, we’ll be sad but please don’t use Tyze.

  2. big print

People 18 years of age or older can use Tyze. Anywhere other than the United States, minors can use Tyze if authorized by an authorized guardian. Children in the US are restricted from using Tyze.

  3. big print

We may update our Terms of Use from time to time. If we do, we’ll make a good faith effort to notify everyone using Tyze of the update. Still, it’s your responsibility to keep up-to-date with the terms on a regular basis. Why not stop by our website every now and then for a visit? You can see what’s new and visit this page to see when we last updated the terms of use agreement.

  4. big print

You should read our Privacy Policy! It’s important and part of this agreement. Lots of the information in there will be helpful for understanding how we manage and protect your personal information.

  5. big print

Sometimes there are fees for using Tyze. If you are starting your account with Tyze, we’ll let you know about any fees in advance. (No surprises, we promise!) If you are starting your account with another organization, that organization is responsible for letting you know about any fees.

  6. big print

Use Tyze the way it was intended, as a private network for support and collaborating around care.

  7. big print

    You own your content.

  8. big print

We don’t share your personal data. If we ever wanted to share any personal data of yours, we need your permission. Without your permission, we won’t share it. See our Privacy Policy for more details.

We do share anonymous data (stuff that nobody would know is yours) collected on and have exclusive rights to it.

  9. big print

If you’re doing something illegal or prohibited on Tyze, we may be asked to do something about it. This could be something drastic, like closing your account.

  10. big print

You can choose to end your license at any time for any reason. And we have the same right.

Terminating the agreement doesn’t change some of the other sections in the agreement. Kind of on the same note, if part of this agreement isn’t legally valid, whatever part is still legally valid will hold strong.

  11. big print

If anything breaks, we’ll do our best to fix it. But if something does break, please note that we are not responsible for anything that happens resulting from your use of Tyze. You understand that there are things beyond our control, like the internet itself and the other companies involved in making the whole amazing, but sometimes complicated, system work.

  12. big print

Our Terms of Use is the entire and only material agreement between us. If there’s a problem between us (and we sincerely hope there never is), any dispute will be governed by British Columbia law and British Columbia courts. Everything would happen in Vancouver, which is a lovely city if you’ve never visited us.

  13. big print

If Tyze is ever sold, we’ll be able to transfer this agreement to a new owner without impacting the agreement.
