Kerry Byrne, PhD
Director of Research and Partnerships
Kerry Byrne is the Director of Research at Tyze Personal Networks. Since joining Tyze, she has built a program of research focused on measuring the impact of Tyze for family caregivers, clients and care provider organizations. Kerry works alongside our customers and partners to examine outcomes and experiences of Tyze users. She has published and presented Tyze research at academic conferences including the Canadian Home Care Association, the Canadian Association on Gerontology and eHealth Vancouver 2012.
Her areas of research expertise are in health and home care, care transitions, family caregiving, network models of care, online networks and the adoption of technology in health and social care settings. Kerry obtained her Doctorate in Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of Western Ontario and a post doctoral research fellowship at the University of British Columbia where she worked on a national home care study examining clients’, families’ and home care staff perspectives about home care. When she isn’t delving into her research, you’ll find her happily texting, emailing, skyping or chatting on the phone with her family and friends throughout Canada and Europe, “sometimes all at the same time,” she admits.
